76% Increase in Form Submissions for a Moving Company
Their primary traffic driver for phone calls and website clicks is from their Google My Business account. However, Apple Maps is now becoming a new traffic driver for them after they got their physical address in October 2024.
Below is the case study for Local SEO for Movers. As a note, the bar graph below is not complete data in February 2025. Since their form submissions are up 100% YoY, I took that number to make this case study before the month concludes.
Google Maps Heat Map

This image above is the trend line for the moving company. The trend line has grown, representing more areas in the six-mile radius, showing my client on page one of Google via the map pack rankings.
The heat map image under that represents where my client ranks on page one. Dots 1-3 (Green) represent a page one of Google ranking. When the trend line increases, more dots in this six-mile radius have now flipped to a page 1 ranking on Google.
Moving Company Local SEO Case Study
I’ve been able to improve the SoLV (share of local voice) for my local SEO client who is a moving company. By flipping more dots green for them in their target 6-mile radius results in more phone calls, website clicks, and customers. That is all I care about for my Local SEO Clients. Getting them more phone calls, website clicks, form submissions, and customers matter. What Was Done
Technical Issues Fixed
When the client first came to me in the summer, they had several major technical issues on the website. Those errors were fixed in the first few weeks of us working together (robots.txt file missing, broken links, images too large, and more)
A Physical Address
Their GMB account was a service area business, which I advised them would not produce the numbers they were looking for via leads. They rented an office in October 2024, which allowed their form submissions to take off in leads due to better rankings
Google My Business
After they got a physical address, I made several changes to their GMB account. Those changes included new questions and answers, updates, services, new descriptions, photos, and more
Third-Party Sites
To help with NAP, I got my client listed on a powerful directory that pulls in their Google Reviews into their dashboard. This directory shows up on page 1 of Google and Bing for a brand search
Apple Maps
My client got on Apple Maps at the start of November. It took us weeks to get approved, but Apple Maps produces an additional 8% lift in monthly phone calls for them
Website Changes
I’ve created a handful of webpages for their moving company and edited a video for their homepage to improve the user experience
Next Steps
I’ve been expanding the radius from six miles to eight miles for select keywords to see what else I can flip. I’ve also made the heat map more granular to look for areas that I can flip in Google via the heat map. I also see Apple Maps as a new avenue to increase phone calls to make it in double digits as the months head into the summer.
