+155% More Monthly Phone Calls from Apple Maps
Increased phone calls from Apple Maps help diversify lead generation beyond Google. Although Google is the dominant search engine, strong visibility on other platforms like Apple Maps can still drive consistent, high-quality leads.
In this case study, I share how my client went from 22 phone calls a month (Jan – March on average) to 56 in December.
A Focus on the Category

Apple Business Connect does not provide visibility into the exact search terms users enter. Instead, I use category data as a proxy, since it confirms that a user searched for a service and selected the business profile.
One of my locksmith SEO clients is generating 71 percent of their Apple Maps profile taps from category searches in 2025. These searches include high-intent terms like emergency locksmith, locksmith near me, locksmith Aurora, and commercial locksmith. By increasing this number over time, we can drive more profile interactions, phone calls, and leads.
155% Increase in Monthly Phone Calls from Apple Maps
In this video, I break down a real Local SEO client case study showing how I increased monthly phone call leads from 22 calls to 56 on Apple Maps (Apple Business Connect). Most businesses focus only on Google, but Apple Maps is a major (and often overlooked) source of high-intent local leads. iPhone users rely heavily on Apple Maps for directions, calls, and local searches, which makes Apple Business Connect an important part of a complete Local SEO strategy. What Was Done
Local Falcon Scans
Local Falcon allows you to run Apple Maps heat map scans. Although this data is sourced from DuckDuckGo, I use it as directional insight to understand where the business is and is not ranking.
Local Falcon Competitor Review
I review Apple Maps competitors using Local Falcon scans and flag any inactive, spammy, or incorrect listings directly to Apple.
Adding Photos
In my experience, photos contribute to stronger rankings on Apple Maps. Since Apple tracks photo taps in the insights dashboard, I add new photos on a regular basis.
Showcases
I run Apple Maps showcases on a monthly basis for my clients. Using a clear call to action like “Call Now” helps increase the number of leads they receive.
The Right Category
I regularly test different category combinations. For instance, I might run “emergency locksmith service” as the primary category for several months and then introduce a secondary category to measure its effect on visibility and rankings.
Respond to Reviews
My client actively responds to their Yelp reviews, which is a known ranking signal for Apple Maps. Apple does not use Google Reviews, so I encourage all of my clients to maintain and engage with their Yelp presence to help generate more leads. Yelp reviews display directly on the Apple Maps profile, and responding to them with relevant keywords can support visibility.
Final Thoughts
Apple Maps is a core part of my Local SEO service. While not every client will generate 20 percent of their leads from this platform, it is still important to monitor and optimize Apple Maps on a monthly basis.
