Local SEO for a Cleaning Company

Local SEO for cleaning companies focuses on improving visibility across a business’s website, Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, and Bing Maps. The goal is to generate more qualified leads by increasing rankings for high-intent, non-branded searches such as “house cleaners,” “house cleaners near me,” “apartment cleaning,” “Airbnb cleaning,” and other local cleaning-related keywords. By improving visibility where potential customers are actively searching, cleaning companies can increase website traffic, phone calls, and overall lead volume.

Key Summary

  • How Do You Measure the Keyword Rankings? I use Local Falcon to monitor Google Map Pack rankings throughout the service area you target, providing detailed visibility into how your business ranks across different locations. For website SEO, I use SEMrush to track organic keyword rankings within the city and surrounding areas where your business operates, helping measure growth in search visibility and local search performance over time.
  • How Do You Measure Leads? Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, and Bing Maps provide directional metrics like website visits and phone calls. However, your own booking and lead data is the most accurate way to measure Local SEO performance and business growth.
  • How Long Does It Take? Most Local SEO clients begin seeing ranking improvements within three months. Higher rankings often lead to more cleaning service bookings.
  • Price: $1,400 a month with no-long term commitments.

What is the Cost for Local SEO Services?

I charge $1,400 a month for Local SEO Services for cleaning companies. Below is what I offer my clients on a monthly retainer with me

  • Fixing technical issues on the website that will restrict future growth. Technical issues include robots.txt issues, 404’s, thin content, etc.
  • Running Local Falcon heat map scans for several non-brand keywords on a regular basis for your account. The goal here is to increase the SoLV (share of local voice), which is the % of time your business is in the Google Map Pack
  • Syncing whatever changes I can directly into Bing Maps
  • Updating your Apple Maps (Apple Business Connect) account with photos, showcases, and more
  • Creating new landing pages (if needed) using ChatGPT, CoPilot, and Clearscope for your team to review
  • Competitor research
  • Access to Greg through WhatsApp, Slack, and Email to communicate
  • A monthly report / 30 minute phone call to discuss next steps
  • And more!

Local SEO for a Cleaning Company – #seocasestudy

I have been working on the #localseostrategy for a cleaning company for several weeks. One of their main keywords is house cleaning service, and their first two scans were stuck at 7% page 1 rankings in a 2 mile radius 13 x 13 grid. Today, they have passed 30% page one rankings within the two-mile radius I am tracking. In this video, I explain the steps that helped them reach those top positions.

The Website Local SEO Strategy

Your website serves as the foundation of the Local SEO strategy. In my experience, creating dedicated service and location landing pages can help improve visibility across Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Maps, and organic search results.

I use SEMrush to research competitors and identify keyword opportunities within the cleaning industry. From there, I leverage tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Clearscope to develop optimized content for your team’s review. Once approved, I publish the content and implement key SEO elements, including title tags, internal linking, image ALT tags, and on-page optimization.

To measure progress, I use SEMrush to track keyword rankings in your target service area and monitor growth over time.

Google Business Profile Optimization

Google Business Profile (Google my Business) typically generates the strongest results for my Local SEO clients. To increase visibility and lead volume, I use Local Falcon to run non-branded heat map scans throughout your service area. These scans help identify ranking opportunities and improve Share of Local Voice (SoLV), which can lead to more impressions, website visits, phone calls, and bookings over time.

In that screenshot, you can see that the keyword “apartment cleaning near me” has grown by 13.61% points and is now at 20.71% for my client on 6-11-2026. On 4-22-206, they were at 6.51% of the time on page 1 for the same keyword in the same radius.

Apple Maps SEO

Apple Maps (Apple Business Connect) tends to vary in the number of additional leads it can capture for my clients. My clients who perform best on Apple tend to have a very strong Yelp presence, and that is the review platform Apple (and Bing) use instead of Google Reviews. Lots of Yelp reviews, authentic photos, showcases, and more all play a role in Apple Map SEO.

You can read this Apple Maps Local SEO Case Study that I was able to achieve for one of my NYC Local SEO Clients to learn more on what I did for them. In this case study, I was able to increase websites clicks by 225% MoM when we went from an average of 20-30 to 101.

Bing Maps (Bing for Business) SEO

Bing Local SEO is often extremely difficult to track for my Local SEO clients. Since Bing has a small market share on mobile, most impressions on Bing Maps occur on desktop. Therefore, while I can’t rely on website clicks or phone clicks data, I look at impressions and impressions over the same competition as one KPI for my clients. The theory is that driving more impressions on Bing will have a downstream effect on total leads, both to the website and beyond.

Combine with PPC

While Local SEO can help grow your business, I fully recommend my clients also run Google Ads and Microsoft Bing Ads in addition to SEO. I can manage your Google Ads and Bing Ads accounts, which means I will be in your accounts daily, adding negative keywords, updating ad copy, and more. Plus, I will be able to see which keywords are driving leads, which I can then bake into the Local SEO strategy.

However, if you don’t want me to manage your accounts, that is fine. I will still request access to see the search terms data and leads, but I won’t be working on the account to drive more leads, lower your cost per click, or anything else.
